To Remember
Recently, I watch CNN web news everyday.
And there're two news about NAVA affected me a lot.
The first one is a news about Habber Space telescope.
It is well-known by all those who study science and engineering.
It is the 1st setellite telescope on the space.
But now it will stop working in several years if nobody tries to fix it.
NASA has made a cheaper and safer decision,
which is to launch a larger new scope.
For the utility and price consideration,
fixing the Habber becomes somthing worthless to do.
To many people's surprise,
this announcement results to strong objection from space fans around the world,
These fans thought that Habber is a scope of great value.
It is not only for its functionality, but the co-existing memory.
Some people even suggest to take it back to earth and put it into a museum.
(which is even a lot more costy)
Eventually, NASA comes up a cheap and safer solution
, which is to send a robot to fix it.
The other news is about the Mars exploration.
The list of crew of crashed Columbia Space shuttle is writen on the antenna of Mars rover, the Spirit and the Oppotunity.
When landing on Mars successfully, the rover tranmited a photo which consist of the scene on the Mars, and the crew list.
On the conference, the commander also said:
"Without the sacrifice of this people, we won't make such a process,
We shall name this landing site as "columbia station""
Yes, it is quite naive and chilish
to spend a lot of money taking a misfunctioning machine back to earth,
or to take the crew list to Mars and send a photo back.
But sometimes, because of this kind of purity, we human becomes great.
Because of this kind of purity, we human becomes human.
I think everyone should think about it:
Do we have our own trandition, our own proudness?
Do we have our own memory or annerversary which should be cherished?
Is there any person we shall remember, and appreciate forever?
There's something we may never be able to make.
There's someone we may never be able to help.
But there's one thing which can always be done anytime,
That is, to put it something, or someone in your mind and remember it forever.
